Bath Ales is hiring brewers, engineers, and more…

At Bath Ales, we currently have some dream job opportunities for beer lovers. It’s not often you get to work in an industry that you’re genuinely passionate about, and those who are mad for all-things beer have got the chance to work at the South West’s most sophisticated and technologically advanced brewery – Hare Brewery, in Warmley, near Bristol and Bath.

There are a few enviable full-time vacancies up for grabs, offering prosperous career pathways and a wealth of perks. Such benefits include 30% off food and drink, and 50% off accommodation at our pubs, inns, and hotels. Here’s a look at our current vacancies.

We’re seeking a brewer to help craft our award-winning beers, including Gem amber ale, Lansdown West Coast IPA, Wild Hare gluten-free pale ale, and (as we form part of St Austell Family Group) some St Austell Brewery beers too. Our five-vessel brewhouse at Hare Brewery, was installed in 2018 and has the capacity to produce more than 50,000 brewers’ barrels of beer – over 14.5 million pints – each year.

This exciting role offers variety and a chance to develop your brewing skills across all aspects of the process, from bringing the raw ingredients into the brewhouse to fermentation and filtration. You’ll work closely with our production teams and provide the packaging lines with finished beer across cask, keg, bottle, and can.

Salary: £22,000 to £30,000 per annum.

Shift Engineer

Daily tasks of our Shift Engineer role include planned and reactive maintenance, project work, and plant improvement schemes, while maintaining all services required for the brewing processes – such as steam, nitrogen, compressed air, CO2, and water.

Hare Brewery has 12 fermenting vessels, an 8,000bph Kosme Krones bottling line, a 15,000cph KHS canning line, a PSL labeller, an Apsrol box maker and packer, and a robotic Kuka packing and stacking system. We also have a Lambrechts Kegger Monobloc 60 machine. Experience in the brewing, beverage, or food processing industry is desired but not essential.

Salary: £33,000 to £36,000 per annum.

Packaging Operative

Our Packaging team plays a crucial part in delivering quality beer from grain to glass. In this role, you’ll be working within the bottling, canning, kegging, and cask racking areas. You will also work closely and collaboratively with the Quality, Brewing, and Engineering teams to help drive the continuous improvement of our award-winning beers.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join an organisation committed to quality, and work within a positive team in a modern and expanding brewery.

Salary: £22,000 to £26,000 per annum.
